Maureen Robertson MSc MNIMH

Medical Herbalist

I have over 30 years of experience working with herbs and sharing the Green knowledge. I co-founded the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine in 1992 offering courses from introductory to professional training at BSc and MSc degree level.

At the same time I encountered Goethe's way of studying "the Holy Open Book of Nature" as shared by Rudolf Steiner and discovered an approach of wholeness to studying plants, landscape and natural phenomena. This led to the development of a clinical application of Goethe's method which shaped my herbal practice and the way I support the healing process for the people I am honoured to work with.

In 2012 I established the Herbal Apprenticeship at Drimlabarra Herb Farm, Isle of Arran, Scotland which ran for 4 years before relocating to Portugal, where I continued offering apprenticeships and running the annual The Herbal Path course. More recently, my 6 month online course The Cosmos of Herbs with in person/zoom monthly plant study and tea tasting classes runs continuously.

Since 2018, the incorporation of Medical Astrology into my herbal practice has further expanded clarity and precision into clinical diagnosis and remediation. This fascinating approach to understanding and working with herbs is exactly the way our ancestors approached prescribing herbs and there is an unmistakably strong energetic alignment to working with herbs in this way.

My focus since 2022 has been on helping herbal students undertaking professional training to gain clinical training experience in my clinic and dispensary by supervising them taking patients, working with therapeutic strategy and dispensing appropriate herbal remedies.

My latest project is collaborating with the Haumatera Holistic Project for Human & Animal Well being in Sintra.

In this video Maureen Robertson outlines the content of the course "Learning from Plants" held at Pishwanton Wood (Scotland) during the weekend of 5th and 6th of July 2014.
