The Herbal Path is proud to announce the continuing journey with another complete Herbal Medicine course for 2016.
Itinerary

Days 1 Sat 26th - Consciously Communicating with Healing Herbs with Maureen Robertson
We will be meeting Essential Oils and distilling Hydrosols and learning how to use them internally and intensively as well as in external preparations. Due to the high volume of herbs needing to be harvested to create hydrosols and essential oils, we will first be practising consciousness raising exercises so we can communicate our intention to the plants we wish to make medicine from and gather with respect and mindfulness. We will look at the differences between hydrosols and essential oils clinically and energetically and ways of integrating them into other herbal modalities such as tinctures and flower essences as we make preparations for you to continue to use at home.

Day 2 Sun 27th Mar - Enter into the Magical World of Tree Medicine with Maureen Robertson
Trees provide a magnificent presence of longevity and adaptation to every season. The life essence of trees provide a depth of healing experience we can benefit from on so many levels. They are key players through their vital and vigorous expressionin guiding us humans on this journey shifting towards a new consciousness.
Opening a door into the healing power of trees on all levels, physiological, emotional and shamanic, we will be making a whole range of different medicines from different parts of the trees we will be learning from. Trees are an often forgotten source of healing wisdom, by also looking at the celtic tree calender, we can really honour their contribution as allies in this transformative period.

Days 3 Mon 28th - All Day Guided Visit to Essential Oils Distillery with François Goris at Herdade Vale Covo.
We will be visiting a local herb farm where you will be shown the whole process of essential oils production from herbs grown organically and harvested on site. The Herdade has been established for many years and we are fortunate to learn from the knowledgable experience of François.

Come and spend a month in the life of a Herbalist and Medicine Musician on Quinta Melilotus, a working Herb Farm, just 15mins from Lagos, south west Algarve, Portugal Join us for a unique experience working and learning alongside Maureen and Jose on their land just minutes from historic coastal town of Lagos, sandy beaches and cliff walks amongst West Algarve's unique flora. Quinta Melilotus is based on 6.6ha of almond, fig and olive groves and the new herb and vegetable gardens where you will be working and eating from.

The Herbal Path 2016
The 2016 edition of The Herbal Path course has finished.
We are so blessed for all the participants we had the pleasure to meet in this year's event.
Thank you to all the teachers and helpers that made this event so special.
The plants were, once again, the stars of the show with the way they keep showing us the path forward to honor and save our Mother Planet.
We are already planning the 2017 adventure!

Day 6 Thur 31st Mar - What's your gut feeling? - A Look at Digestion and Food Intolerances with Herbalist Christine Herbert
Most chronic illness begins in the digestive system. This will be a day looking at food intolerances, their affect on the body, how to heal the damage caused, and how to diagnose them from the symptom picture, the medical history and kinesiology (muscle testing). We will look at the herbal treatment of chronic digestive problems, considering their energetics and their suitability for an individual and you will learn how to muscle test.
This session will include a hands-on, practical making and tasting of fermented drinks and foods for help with optimising gut flora.

Day 7 Fri 1st April - Helping People with Cancer using Herbs & Diet with Herbalist Christine Herbert
What lies behind the development of cancer in all its different forms and in which type of person? Learn how to support cancer sufferers through treatment with herbs, supplements and diet, help those undertaking chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy and also afterwards to help with prevention and recurrence.

Days 8 & 9 Sat 2nd - Sun 3rd April Shamanic Approaches to working with Plants and Healing with Rocio Alarcon, one of the best loved Herbalists and Healers on the planet!
As well as experiencing the Limpia cleansing ceremony using aromatic plants, Rocio will lead us on a Unique Shamanic Constellation Journey through the Elements. Create your own Inner Healing Landscape with Plants and the Elements from an installation in Nature being reflected within yourself. This will be an experience of the natural phenomenon of the microcosm reflecting the macrocosm using the Oneness principle of as without is within. -
It will be an honour to share a Sacred Sauna Sweatlodge as part of this transformative weekend.

Fernanda Botelho
Plant Enthusiast and Botanist Fernanda Bothelo will join with us again to share her considerable knowledge about local plants and their traditional & modern uses. Fernanda is a walking plant encylopaedia, a national treasure! A not to be missed fun and informative day spent making preparations from the plants we learn about.
For 17 years, Fernanda lived, studied and worked in London in the area of medicinal plants and Montessori and Waldorf Education. Back in her native Portugal since 1998, she has participated in many projects of environmental education from schools to associations. She completed training in being a Botanical Garden Guide at the Science Faculty in Lisbon. She is a member of Colher para Semear, the Portuguese Society of Botany, the Herb Society and collaborates in the French site "Herbalistes sans Frontieres" and in "Portal do Jardim".
She writes regularly for the magazine Jardins and for As Plantas e a Daude: Guia Practico de Remedios Caseiros, and has published various children's books, such as Salada de Flores, Sementes a Solta e Hortas Aromaticas, all recommended by the National Plan of Reading (Plano Nacional de Leitura).
Christine Herbert
Herbalist Christine Herbert has over 18 years of clinical experience drawing on skills from Allergy testing, Ayurveda, Western and Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine. Broaden your horizons with these different approaches and techniques which can inform and enhance your natural healing.
She grows and makes her own herbal preparations on her organic smallholding and has a particular interest in using both herbs and foods in her practice.
In recent years, after studying with herbalists Chanchal Cabrera and Chris Etheridge, she has been helping many people with cancer to find a path through the minefield of supplements and herbs mostly used alongside conventional medicine. She volunteers at a centre for people with cancer in Norfolk which has given her lots of experience for which she is very grateful.
